Getting Started

Ready to Meet RVR+ and RVR??

We are so excited you've chosen to explore your new RVR+/RVR in all of its glory: testing its sensors, expanding its capabilities by connecting development boards, taking it where no bot has gone before! We packed the RVR+/RVR itself, with tons of sensors (color sensor, light sensor, IR, accelerometer, gyroscope), as well as had a blast testing the all-terrain tread and all of the places we could take RVR+/RVR, but one of the things we are most excited about is..... your robot's expandability! We added a USB port, as well as a 4 pin port for +5V Power, TX, RX and Ground, and have been playing with adding development boards, as well as attaching robotic arms ("RVR+, get me a soda!" 😉), wind-speed sensors, drone tech, and more; we can't wait to see what you imagine and implement!

IMPORTANT

If you have an original RVR, a few notes before you start...
First things first, you must connect your RVR to the EDU App before connecting it to a development board (Raspberry Pi/micro:bit/Arduino), in order to ensure that it has the most up-to-date firmware.
